Mark Allen Chapman, 54, passed away July 14th 2013 of a heart attack. He's living life in peace now, sharing a good book with his loving mother, Marilyn Chapman, who preceded him in death. Services will be held at Eagles Lodge #109, 6567 Bloomfield Road in Des Moines on Friday July 26th at 6pm.
Mark Allen Chapman was born March 12th 1959. An avid traveler with a lust for natural beauty he sampled all the kinds of life most of us never have a chance to. His adventures led him to live in at least 14 states including Hawaii and a 2 year spiritual retreat in Mexico. A curious nature to learn, he read thousands of books, articles or anything written for that matter. This gave him an enormous knowledge of most everything one would like to "just talk about." His wit and humor were unmatched, rarely could anyone find him not laughing, smiling or making those around him laugh and smile. His wants and needs were simple. Mark loved all unconditionally and just wanted to be loved back the same way.
He is survived by father, Wayne; sister, Debbie ( Ken Jr.) Steffens; brother, Kent (Lisa) Chapman; nephews, Shane and Justin Sparks; nieces, Taylor Steffens, Alesha and Alayna Damerville, Christy (Scott) Thomas, Michelle (Nick) Curnes; and his life brother, Andy Frantz all of Des Moines.
To honor his memory his family wishes that all memorial contributions should be sent to the Des Moines Public Library (south side branch) in memory of Mark Chapman. To express condolences online please visit: email@example.com
