Obituary

Kirby Michael Taylor, 31 of Des Moines, Iowa went to live with the Lord on November 17, 2019. Kirby was born on Feb 7, 1988. He was born in Storm Lake and raised in Estherville Iowa. He attended school in Estherville and graduated in 2006-mid semester. Small mechanics, carpentry, plumbing, and masonry classes were taken through local colleges.

Kirby enjoyed doing a large variety of outdoor activities including: snow and waterskiing, fishing, camping, skating, biking, running, and riding ATVs/dirt bikes. He completed numerous races including a full marathon and built his own ATV/dirt bike track.

Kirby would have given the shirt off his back for those he loved. His infectious smile and witty sense of humor would bring light to any room. He especially cherished the moments he spent with Breckyn and Brody Taylor, spoiling them with his time and nice gifts throughout the years. Kirby was an organ donor; this final act of kindness will help 100 people and give eyesight to two people.

Kirby always had a strong work ethic; he was quick, accurate, and could figure anything out with his engineering mindset. In Kirby’s mind if his work was not 100%, it was not finished. He enjoyed concrete work and took great pride in every ounce of concrete he poured.

Left to cherish: Mother Barb (Swanson) Taylor-Estherville, Iowa. Brother Kevin and his wife Lacey, their children: Breckyn and Brody-Waukee, Iowa. Grandparents Richard and Karen Swanson-Estherville, Iowa. Girlfriend Natasha Golay, Gracie Lou (furbaby)-Des Moines, Iowa. Uncles Michael Swanson-Viera, Florida and Jay Swanson-Butler, Tennessee. Great Aunts/Uncles, Cousins, and Friends.

Preceded by Great Grandparents: Abraham and Maxine Anderson, Eldon and Helen Swanson. Aunt: Amy Swanson.

Memorial service for Kirby Michael Taylor will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11:00 am. Calvary Gospel Assembly Church, 21 North 8th Street; Estherville, Iowa.

After the service a luncheon will be provided in the basement of the Church. Please take time to share a special memory of Kirby on the notecards at the tables. Family would like to thank each and every person who made a positive difference in Kirby’s life.
