John E. Haas 71, passed Sunday, 11/26/17 at Methodist Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa. He was born 16 January 1946 in Pontiac Michigan to Otto J. Haas and Olivia Irene Klock Haas.
He attended schools in York Springs, PA and Fredrick MD. He most honorably served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps where he served tours in Korea, Germany and Vietnam. Upon discharge from the Service, he traveled the U.S. before settling in the Des Moines area. He is survived by his most respected Vietnam War brothers Tom Zadina, Bob Brooks and Jerry Schaller.
In addition to his parents. he was predeceased by his brothers Ronald J. Haas, Donald D. Haas and a step brother Wayne Greenway. Surviving is a sister, Mabel S. Badkins, Valley View PA and a brother, Jim Haas, York Springs PA.
His family extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Linda Thompson who provided for his most recent companionship and care.
In his younger days, John enjoyed tinkering with his radios and pursued radio and electronics repair in the Army as well as with Best Buy and Audio Labs. He made many friends with his sales customers and co-workers.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Des Moines Cremation, West Des Moines Iowa. Internment will be held in the Des Moines Iowa cemetery. Memorial Services will be conducted at their convenience.
